Along with the announcement of her debut album, Anything Can’t Happen, Dorothea Pass has released the single, ‘Waves Rising’. It’s a breezy track that doesn’t concern itself too much with appearing to fit musical norms, allowing textures to collide and murky guitar chords to blend together amongst the mixture of influences that shine throughout the single. “I started writing this song while I was taking care of a friend’s dog and finding myself frustrated if I couldn't figure out exactly what she wanted,” she explains, on the genesis of the tune. “I laughed as I thought about how this situation gave me insight into other (human) relationships in my life.” Be on the lookout for Anything Can’t Happen on May 7^th, 2021. -Dan Peeke
